Her posture conveys a calm authority… the kind that needs no approval, no permission, and no explanation.
This is more than a minimalist fashion illustration: This artwork is about surviving against all odds, healing, finding identity, reclaiming independence, and emerging with grace after years of suffering abuse.
Her face is nearly featureless except for her mouth, symbolizing how she found her voice. She is anonymized to represent many women, yet carries personal touches marking her as my own.
Her posture is strong yet effortless, hands on hips tucked into the pockets of a dress flowing in the wind.
She rides the wind like an eagle through the storm—moving forward despite all she has endured.
She looks upward, knowing God loves and cares for her, even when it seemed no one else on Earth did.
She represents not only me, but also every woman who has overcome abuse. She refused to let her abusers steal her light, her softness, or her empathy—even when they drained her deliberately. The truth did not die with her,
even when she was nearly destroyed.
